Teen Membership, Parent Supervision, and Community Safety

LegendFiction is a micro-community for creative writers. We welcome teen members, but teen participation requires parent or legal guardian awareness, consent, and active supervision.
Members ages 16 and older may participate with parent or guardian consent. Teens younger than 16 (to age 14 only) may participate only when a parent or legal guardian clearly understands the community, consents to their teen’s participation, and remains actively involved in their teen’s use of the community.
- Parents and guardians are encouraged to contact the LegendFiction team at any time. We are happy to answer questions, explain how the community works, and help parents understand what their teen can access. Parents may also begin a free 30-day, Author Core trial on behalf of their teen so they can explore the community before approving participation.
- LegendFiction provides designated spaces for teen members to connect with one another. Adult member spaces are kept separate, and teen members are barred from applying to or joining adult-only areas.
- LegendFiction does allow members to communicate through private chat features. These private messages are visible to the participating members, and are not available to LegendFiction hosts, staff, or moderators. Because of this, parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their teen’s activity, behavior, and communications inside the community.
- LegendFiction does no background checking of members, offers no specialized child protection program, and makes no promise that every interaction, message, or member relationship can be monitored or controlled.
- Participation in LegendFiction is voluntary and at the member’s own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, members, parents, and legal guardians agree to release and hold harmless LegendFiction, its owners, hosts, staff, moderators, contractors, and volunteers from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from participation in the community, member interactions, private messages, or a parent or guardian’s decision to allow a teen to participate.
Parents or legal guardians who have concerns about their teen’s participation should contact the LegendFiction team so we can answer questions, explain available settings, or help close the teen’s account.
By allowing a teen to join LegendFiction, the parent or legal guardian confirms that they understand and accept these limits.
