3 steps to get started!

LegendFiction is a project to support, discover and reward writers. With free storytelling tools, ways to get published, and an easy way to ask for tips, all types of creative writers can get discovered and inspire their creativity.

Here’s how LegendFiction works in three simple steps:

  1. Create your story: Create a story about something that inspires you. Make it engaging by adding a header photo.
  2. Help it get found: Add your story to our categories and tags to get discovered. Our team of human moderators will ensure it complies with our community guidelines for safety and good writing.
  3. Fund your creativity: We believe quality stories should be rewarded. That's why we encourage your fans to send you tips - and you keep 100%.

As a writer, your personal brand is incredibly important. LegendFiction is here to help you get discovered and grow your readership. Your author page should be ready for this—carefully filled out so that readers can discover you, reach you, and - most importantly - remember you!

Set up your author post with the following:

  • Add a photo of yourself
  • Add full name so you can easily be discovered. Your name creates your profile URL. If you change it, check any any backlinks in case they break.
  • Write a fun, compelling bio to tell your readers who you are! Don’t skip this part. A few sentences about your origin story, what kinds of fiction you like to read and write, and any projects you're working on.
  • Add your links to social media profiles
  • Add your website URL so that people can keep exploring you

What does the Verified Checkmark mean?

Authors with the purple checkmark are paying members of our private community.

Membership is optional. Scroll down on this page to learn more about CatholicAuthor.

We believe your hard work building worlds and writing fiction should rewarded! We're allowing all writers to ask for tips to help fund your creativity.

Tipping allows your readers to pay you directly for your stories. Like buying you another cup of coffee, so you keep writing!

We take nothing from your tips. It's all yours. We believe this is one of the best ways to help you crowdfund your project, or let your fans support your passion.

Also, by tipping another writer, you’re showing your support for your favorite authors!

Things to know about tipping:

LegendFiction partners with our writers. This project doesn't work without your heart, faith, and imagination. We support our writers with chances at publication and promotion, and we want our writers to be able to support each other.

It’s all part of the way we share and support each other. If you like an author's story, you can directly support them to keep going!

How to ask for tips

We recommend using BuyMeaCoffee.com - because that's what our founder uses! Dominic loves the easy, friendly interface. People can send small amounts anytime - like buying a coffee for a friend.

Note: this link is a referral link that may share with me a reward for inviting you to sign up. But that's because I think it's awesome. (You can even set up subscriptions...)

How to ask for tips

  • Your Profile Button: Once you get your link, add it to your author profile!
  • We already automatically ask readers to send you a tip at the end  of your stories.
  • Share on social media! Invite friends, family, and fans to come check out your work.

We're always working to make things better for our writers, and our readers. Share your ideas with us any time!

LegendFiction invites writers to join our private community, CatholicAuthor. Give and get feedback, share your works in progress, get mentors, resources, and friendship!

How to be a Catholic Author

All members should read through this course before posting on this site. It’s our manifesto!

Helping authors write exciting novels, connect faith with fiction, and be better Catholics!

Writing Guidelines

LegendFiction believes that stories exist to educate and entertain, to charm and challenge.

But they are primarily to fascinate, thrill, awe, and inspire. Or just generally to have fun.

While stories and authors can be on a mission to share serious messaging, all of it must remain relatively family-friendly (there’s teens on here, y’all). And it should never be preachy.

  • No copyrighted content that isn’t yours (plagiarising)
  • Content is in English
  • Zero spam
  • No formatting errors (get used to Grammarly and Hemingway Editor)
  • No NSFW content at all. Mature themes welcome, subject to review.
  • Check our graphic content tab for details.

Publication on LegendFiction is free. You keep your copyright, but you're allowing us to use your content too.

  • Anyone can submit a beautiful author page, and start sharing their stories.
  • Explore portfolios of stories, make friends, and share uplifting feedback.
  • Meet new readers who want to support you!

Every story is reviewed before publication by a mentor.

This does not mean that we endorse or approve of all content contributed, or activity by our contributors on other websites. All opinions from our contributors are their own, and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of LegendFiction, its mentors, or other contributors.

Contributors who display unkind or harmful activity in their interactions, or celebrated within their stories, will not be published.

We have a zero-tolerance policy against trolls, and a 2-strike policy with flagged or toxic behavior between members.

Send us a message anytime you have a question!

Copyrights

  • We are committed to protecting the work of our writers.

  • Your work is automatically protected under Copyright Law as soon you put it into a fixed format, like writing it down.
  • Writers are encouraged to report any potentially infringing content.
  • If you believe your work has been copied improperly, you can submit a takedown request and we will immediately investigate to remove the infringing work.
  • Ask if you have more questions!

Overtly religious stories are welcome - but we are not here to write evangelistic fiction. We do not believe that our views, ideas, and personal witness are perfect. We understand that many who are not Christian may live the truth more faithfully than we do. Which is how we treat our characters.

Our faithful Catholic and Orthodox writers are deep believers in the Gospel message. But we don't confuse the 'call to holiness' offered to all humanity with a self-referential, self-congratulating ego.

Fictional characters in can of course be religious, and we welcome stories and conversations that discuss religious living and themes. We do not welcome content intended to shame or divide members, or groups within the world.

We are here to encourage writers of mature faith, who understand the need for nuance, and who wrestle with the realities of our modern world.

Ask us if you have questions!

Graphic depictions of violence, sexuality, or strong language are not appropriate on this website.

Mature themes are welcome, but within a relatively family-friendly context. We get that not every story should be for all ages.

Shaming language, glorification of self-harm, or hate speech of any kind will be rejected.

Please ask if you have questions.
