Max Woods

Max is just an average fella from a big, Catholic family who likes writing stories and then doodling pictures about them. He's at the end of his senior year of high school (having homeschooled for his whole life), and he's preparing to meet the world with all of its trolls, dragons, and insurance salespeople. He lives out in the beautiful (and wet) countryside of Oregon, just an hour or two from the ocean.

Hello!

To elaborate on some previous points, I've been coming up with weird ideas for books for about as long as I can remember. Life without writing stories would honestly be alien to me. And I've been drawing since I could hold a crayon, but have really started taking my art seriously ever since the pandemic started. Currently, I'm teaching myself digital art, and am experimenting with all of the fun things that involves!

My greatest sources of inspiration have to come from good books, great movies, inspirational video games, and creepy dreams. I love the writings of J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Michael O'Brien, Andrew Peterson, and Trent Horn, to name a few authors. I also love the Fullmetal Alchemist series, both the graphic novels and its two Netflix series, and cannot recommend the Wingfeather Saga book series enough. Favorite films have to be the Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, Gladiator, the Captain America branch of Marvel films, and A Christmas Carol (the one with George C. Scott). Turning to video games for inspiration is another one of the ways I get ideas, especially from the Resident Evil series (now you know how disturbed I am...), the Legend of Zelda games, Metroid, the Flame in the Flood, and pretty much any epic fantasy game that piques my interest.

I'm so excited to find out that a group like this exists! It can feel so lonesome sometimes, and it's easy to think you're the only writer who believes in absolute truths...stay strong, fellow Catholic Authors! Can't wait to read everything you post!
