To effectively provide this experience to readers, we need to look closely at our protagonist: who they are, what they want, what stands in their way, and how they change. We also need to make choices about the point of view of the narration, where to start the story, and where to end it. Whether you are fleshing out a story idea, in the middle of writing, or working on revisions, taking a moment to look closely at your protagonist and your narrative choices will help you make your story stronger.

In this ninety-minute workshop, you will

• Dig into who your protagonist is, what they want, and how they change
• Determine who is telling their story and how
• Pinpoint your beginning and ending scenes

There will be opportunities to share about and discuss your stories in the group and receive coaching on your work.

This workshop uses steps eight through eleven of The Blueprint for a Book by Jennie Nash, founder of Author Accelerator. The complete Blueprint outlines fourteen steps to plan your novel from the inside out. You do not need to have completed the earlier Blueprint steps to attend this workshop and find it useful.
